I have loved reading your account and had to leave a comment. Before settling in Lewes, Sussex. I was living in the mountains on the south east of Crete, the stars by eye blew me away every evening. My partner missed TV and grabbed any UK visitors to catch up with the soaps, but I was very happy with my celestial show every night.

You are very lucky. Its one of those things I have always wanted to do but never been able to. The only time I ever got an invitation to a go to look through a proper astronomical telescope it clouded over and I didn't get to see a thing. more…
